Torque Transmission

If a shaft-hub connection can also transmit drive or torque forces in addition to axial forces, this is referred to as torque transmission. If this shaft-hub connection is also to be axially (linearly) displaceable, splined shafts are used, for example. If, however, a clearance-free and low displacement force under load is also required, then ball spline shafts and bushings are recommended.
