The basic static load C0 is a measurement of force or load applied to machine elements. For a linear guide, the basic static load is defined as the static load that produces a residual deformation (at the highest loaded point of contact between the rolling element and the guideway). This must correspond to 0.0001 times the diameter of the rolling element. Above this continuous load, permanent damage to the guideway is generally assumed.
