Force-Locking Connection

Various types of connection are available for joining two or more components. One of them is the frictional connection. It is the opposite of a positive (shaft-hub) connection. This can be, for example, a splined connection or a connection by means of a key. In a frictional connection, however, the torque or axial force to be transmitted is only transferred via the friction of the parts to be connected. Therefore, a force-locking connection is always also a friction-locking connection at the same time. Common examples of this are an interference fit, a clamping set or also a tolerance sleeve connection.
