Ball Screw Spline

A ball screw spline generates a stroke and rotation movement of an output shaft that can be combined as desired via the rotary movement of two drives with simultaneous backlash-free guidance of the shaft.

This is made possible by combining a ball screw drive and a splined shaft guide on one shaft and one rotating nut each for the linear and the rotary drive. These also serve as support bearings. In this way, a very compact unit is achieved, e.g. for the Z-axis of Scara robots, assembly and testing systems, pick-and-place machines, etc.
